Last updated: 5 December 2011
THE PAN-EUROPEAN SEED-LIST SEARCH SYSTEM
A system that uses a simple code word – seminumsystem+year – to provide a unique identifier to every on-line seed-list issued by a European Botanic Garden, so as to allow internet searching of all seed lists.
INVASIVE ALIEN PLANTS IN BOTANIC GARDENS
A project that has generated a list of known and potentially invasive plants across Europe. Sharing this information, and developing a European-wide strategy for dealing with invasive plants in Gardens.
INTERNATIONAL PLANT EXCHANGE NETWORK (IPEN)
A system for the exchange of non-commercial plant material between botanic gardens, based on compliance
with ABS regulations under the CBD.
ACTION PLAN FOR BOTANIC GARDENS IN THE EUROPEAN UNION
The action plan was published in 2000, and still forms a coherent and valuable document,
the Consortium is, however, actively revising and updating the plan.
PLANT CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES
Much of the work of the Consortium is focused on wild plant conservation and issues related to the sharing of information and plant resources. Activities include the promotion of Target 8 activities of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation.
EUROPEAN BOTANIC GARDENS CONGRESS (EUROGARD)
The European Botanic Gardens Congress (EuroGard) is organised every three years by the Consortium working with a hosting institution. The meetings aim to strengthen capacity and collaboration among European botanic gardens as well as deepen their role in society at large.
Various Powerpoint presentations
