Aims: The Association was established to assist and support the development of botanical gardens, including arboreta and Palm Houses, and coordinating their activities, among others, through: joint research program-related activities in particular 'ex-situ' projects for endangered species; acting on behalf of the national botanical gardens and gardens on state government administrative bodies; Polish representation in international organizations such as BGCI; preparation of joint educational programs; organizing conventions, conferences and scientific sessions; training of scientific and support staff; making interventions to defend the interests of the Botanical Gardens as well as living natural resources in the country and the world; initiating publications relating to botanical gardens; providing consultation and feedback about methodologies in managing and establishing botanical gardens and related kinds of gardens; and cooperation with botanic gardens abroad and other organizations of gardens in different countries and supranational regions, as well as international organizations and agencies

Criteria for membership: Admission to membership is by way of a resolution by the General Assembly
Member gardens: 35 (14 botanical gardens, 17 arboretums, 3 gardens of medicinal plants, 1 palm house).
